For this project, I designed and launched two separate WordPress websites—one focused on content creation and one built as a fully functioning e-commerce experience. The goal was to explore the versatility of WordPress and demonstrate how the same platform can power completely different types of digital experiences.
Athens Eats — My Content Website
For my content site, I created Athens Eats, a local food-focused publication highlighting restaurants, dishes, and hidden gems around Athens, Georgia. This site was built on its own WordPress install using a content-forward theme to give it that editorial, magazine-style feel.
Key Features:
- A fully designed home page showcasing featured food spots and trending posts
- A category-driven “Best of Athens” page that aggregates posts using WordPress categories
- 8–10 total stories, with 3–4 completely developed articles including images, subheads, callouts, and a variety of Gutenberg blocks
- Use of galleries, buttons, columns, quotes, and other blocks to create an engaging reading experience
This project let me combine my love for Athens culture with my digital marketing and storytelling skills—designing a site that feels local, lively, and visually cohesive.
Custom Banners by Rinne — My Commerce Website
For my commerce site, I built a second WordPress install dedicated to the banners I paint—UGA-themed, gameday-inspired, and custom pieces. I chose a clean, product-focused theme to make the site feel like a boutique online shop.
Key Features:
- A branded home page introducing my banner line with bold imagery and product highlights
- A Shop page displaying multiple products in a grid layout
- 6–8 products available, with 3–4 fully built-out product pages including galleries, descriptions, dimensions, and pricing
- Use of WooCommerce blocks, buttons, images, columns, and product grids to structure the shopping experience
This build helped me strengthen my understanding of e-commerce fundamentals—from product organization to user flow to creating a clean, consistent brand aesthetic.
